25/04/2010-01/05/2010 (A Weekend Retreat for Volunteers

The beginning of the week crawled by so slowly because there was something exciting to look forward to - and that is our trip to Green Wish Vege Garden at Kampung Sg. Genting , Perak on 30/04/2010 - 01/05/2010.  Our previous posts had been a little wordy so I took the trouble to remember taking some snapshots to share.

Our first stop - Gua Kandu 我们的第一站-Kandu山洞
Yes.  That's right! One of the unforgettable moments at Gua Kandu was when every torchlight were switched off and everyone observed a 1-minute silence to have a feel of the inside of the cave.  Ever had the feeling of being literally consumed by darkness?

Then suddenly, the cave cracked, the sun shone from above, and a smiling Angel descended.

Our next stop - right outside Gua Kandu...
Just hanging around...while waiting for tow-truck to come and towaway one of our cars that refused to start.

After a very very late lunch, we took our shower right here...at Kinjang waterfall.

Then, we could not escape home kriya because coincidentally, our teacher joined us for the trip...
Next up, a visit to the Kampung orang asli.
The odd one out...playing football with the boys

The next morning...

After yoga, short Kriya, and breakfast, Kenny brought us around his farm for a tour. Thereafter, we visited a Christian Settler's Kicap factory, and bought some health food at their store. Guan Seng treated us for a round of durian ice lollies!

Thank you Uncle Robert, who is a member of the Malaysian Karst Society, our Captain for our adventure in Gua Kandu, and to educate us about Limestone caves and the dangers they face in the wake of human ignorance and greediness.

Of course, there wouldn't be a trip if it weren't for Kenny and Lee May, our warm hosts at the farm who had shared so many useful knowledge not only about organic farming, but so much more...

The world is definitely still a good place because these individuals are shining brightly for us.

Last but not least, our group photo... 。。
