Download 30+1 Most Popular Bhajans: Lyrics For Beginners
In one of the first few times of Satsang that I attended, we were out in the open air, on someone's rooftop. This person was sitting at the front and beating on a drum and singing a bhajan.
I was sitting behind, hunting for mosquitos.
Then that great singer encouraged me to bring my guitar to satsang. I am sure he fervently disapproves of me killing mosquitos. And things changed ever since.
I gave up my mosquito hunting and joined in the singing and to my great surprise, really enjoyed it (considering the above image, who wouldn't)
This compilation of 30+1 Most Popular Bhajans: Lyrics for Beginners is especially created for those who are one of the first timers who has no idea what everyone around them is singing about. Believe me, it is as good as watching a comedy by laughing at someone's poor pronunciation (sorry!) but at least I give you something to do instead of hunting for mosquitos. Yes! You got it right. Just flip through the pages to find that song, and start laughing, first at other people, then it will turn into a genuine happy laugh before you knew it!
To say it is the most popular bhajans is just a convenience. In actual fact, it is mostly my personal favourite songs. I conveniently left out those songs I am not so fond of. With many of it containing fond memories, and is still creating fond memories.
Take for instance, Narayan Narayan Jai Jai Govinda Hare, is a song that reminds me of Navratri in India, the great times I had there. It also reminds me of my turning point during my lowest point of self-confidence, when the great Balvinder who, during an advanced course, urged me to sing when everyone was prepared to call it a day. I started singing , and never looked back ever since.
Take alakh niranjana, I love it because everyone I sang it with seem to enjoy it.
Lakshimi Narayana Jai Jai Jai Vithale is a song that has a European flavour, sang by the residents at Bad Antogast, the Art of Living European Ashram. I still remembered suddenly seeing a bald spot right in front of me and immediately felt more at home at that strange place.
Sometimes, I might miss a session of group practice, sometimes, I might miss a session of Yoga practice. But Satsang? Yo man! It's my priority :)
If you see me strumming my guitar and singing a bhajan with a confused expression on my face, you should know that I am still wondering 'what the heck am I doing?!'
