The Big Mind 大心智(16)

Note: Every week from 1995, Guruji started sending out knowledge sheets which he fondly called the 'Knowledge Fax' to be read out and discussed at Satsangs happening all around the world. Guruji ended this delightful practice at the 365th week in September 2002, so as to let us fully digest them! These knowledge sheets have been compiled into An Intimate Note To The Sincere Seeker Volumes 1-7. I began the practice of posting a Knowledge Sheet every week for the benefit of those who have not had the opportunity to get hold of these priceless books. It had never cease to uplift me by reading and rereading this knowledge. So I know you would certainly enjoy them!

You know there is a big mind and a small mind. Sometimes the Big Mind wins over the small mind, and sometimes it is the other way around.

When the small mind wins over, it is misery; when the Big Mind wins, it is joy. The small mind promises joy and leaves your hand empty. The Big Mind may bring a resistance in the beginning but later fills you with joy.

Jai means victory.

Guru means great.

Deva means the Divine who is fun-loving, playful, light.

Jai Guru Dev means victory to the Greatness in you, victory to the Big Mind in you that is both dignified and playful.

Usually one who is playful is not dignified, and one who is dignified is not playful. But the Divine in you-the Big Mind-is both together.

Jai Guru Dev need not be thought of as victory to the Master. Rather, it is victory to your own Self, your own Big Mind over the wailing small mind.

你们知道有个大心智与小心智。有时大心智胜过小心智，有时则相反。

当小心智胜利时，是悲惨；当大心智胜利时，是喜悦。小心智承诺喜悦，却让你两手空空。大心智最初或许带来抗拒，而后却使你充满喜悦。

捷(Jai)意为胜利。
古鲁(Guru)意为伟大。
帝瓦(Deva)意指好玩、诙谐、轻松的神。

Jai Guru Dev为梵文， 意指你内在伟大的胜利，你内在那既庄严又诙谐的大心智的胜利。
 
经常一个诙谐的人不庄严而庄严的人则不诙谐，但内在的神──大心智──则是两者兼具的。
 
与其将Jai Guru Dev视为是上师的胜利，不如将之视为你自己本我的胜利，你的大心智战胜了哀号的小心智。
