We are back to our weekly routine after 2 weeks of events.  Participants from the Advanced Course from Gunung Jerai shared their feelings and experiences during our weekly practice.  But of course, other than 'good, fantastic, superb...' the great feeling after going through an advanced course is indescribable--it is beyond words!

It is amusing what Vita Liao has to share with Lay Choon about the significance of our practice on cleansing our body, mind and soul:

'Doing our daily home practice is like using the feather duster,

Coming for our weekly practice is like using the vacuum cleaner,

Attending Part II advance course is like spring cleaning.'

Guruji encourages us to attend the Part II advance course every 6 months.

Candle-light Satsang

In conjunction with Earth Day, at 8.30pm, we turned off the electricity, lighted some candles and sang our Bhajans in a very romantic setting and ended up dancing into the night...

We mischievously skipped our weekly knowledge session.

经过两个星期的忙碌，中心的活动恢复正常。参加高级课程的学员在团练分享他们在峨崙山上课的经验。当然，除了‘好、棒、行。。。’之类的形容词，上高级课 程的经验是无法形容-超越言语的。 

廖老师和惠群分享灵修对我们身、心、灵整洁和健康 的重要性。她用一段精彩的比喻：

‘我们每天都在家练习好比鸡毛帚扫掉心灵的尘埃，
回来每周团 练好比吸尘机吸走我们心灵的垃圾，
上高级课程好比一个大扫除清除掉我们心灵剩余污垢。’

大师鼓励我们每六个月上一次高级课 程。

烛光唱场
我们配合地球日，星期六晚上8.30，我们关掉电源，点起蜡烛在浪漫的情调下唱歌，情到浓时大家 还跳起舞来呢！

我们趁老师缺席顽皮的取消听知识的环节。

In the Beginning(sometime in 2008)...起初（2008年期间）。。。

When announcements were made that there will be a Spring Cleaning on a Friday for our Alor Setar Centre, I went there prepared with all the necessaries: pail and mop and cloth...I was expecting a merry affair with many members participating and erm......it turned out I enjoyed myself just the same!

当老师报告将会在某个星期五清洗我们的新会所，我准备了抹地布、桶及抹桌布浩浩荡荡出发到中心...我想应该会好热闹吧!嗯...结果我还是一样那么的享受!

The most hardworking seva present on that day, in charge of practically cleaning the whole centre: the ceiling, the floor, and ....washing the toilets!!

当天最勤力的义工，几乎整个中心都由他负责清洗：天花板、抹地板、还有。。。洗厕所！！

The two extra pairs of wings at work! 其他两双翅膀在工作！

Boredom and Sadhana 无聊与灵修 （23）

What is boredom? 

 

A repetition without interest or love causes a monotonous state of mind; that is boredom. It overshadows the Self. 

A practice or abhyasa is again a repetition whose purpose is to destroy the boredom and reunite with the Self. In this process the practice itself creates boredom and as you continue, it penetrates the boredom and destroys it once and for all. Whether the practice gives you joy or boredom, it must be continued. Only the practice or abhyasa can annihilate the Mind.

Self is Love and Love is always repetitive. That is why love letters are simply repetitive and there is no boredom there. If you are bored with yourself then how much more boring you would be for others. Root out the boredom in you through deep and continued meditation.

Wake up and Walk up.


何谓无聊？


就是缺乏兴趣或缺乏爱的一种重复。这造成心智单调的状态并遮蔽着本我。


灵修也是种重复，其目的在摧毁无聊而使你与本我再次结合。联系本身会产生无聊，但当你持续不断时，你就穿透它并永远摧毁它。不管灵修带给你的是喜悦或无聊，都应持之以恒。只有你的练习、你的灵修能够战胜心智。


本我是爱而爱是一再重复的。情书只是单纯地反复，但却不无聊。


假如你对自己都这么感到厌烦，那你对别人而言又是多烦呢？、


透过深沉与不断的静坐根除内在的无聊。醒一醒，向上攀升。

Phew! These two week's newsflash is rolled into one: one week is full of total rest and peace; and the other our Alor Setar sevas came out from deep rest and plunge into action to get our Sahaj Samadhi meditation course rolling!

Our Gunung Jerai advanced course rolled by and set all our friends throughout the Northern region in Malaysia into a holiday within themselves.  It also helps that the Jerai Hill Resort has such a tranquil and romantic environment, which send us back to our Selves in no time!

Our Alor Setar sevas come out from silence and plunge right into activity by organising our Sahaj Samadhi meditation course.  From the initial 20 participants, we manage to increase it to 36 participants in just one day! Talk about positive energy!
